Acceptable Use Policy

Effective date: March 4, 2026

This policy governs your use of chessanalyses.com. Violating this policy may result in account suspension or termination.

1. Permitted Use

The platform is designed for personal chess improvement. You may:

  • Analyze your completed chess games to identify mistakes and patterns.
  • Solve tactical puzzles and track your puzzle rating.
  • Study openings and review coaching insights.
  • Use the AI Chess Coach to ask questions, get study plans, and explore chess concepts.
  • Export and share your game analyses and reports.

2. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

Cheating & Fair Play Violations

  • Using chessanalyses.com during live rated games — this includes using the analysis engine, AI Coach, move explanations, or any other feature to gain an unfair advantage in ongoing games on Lichess, Chess.com, or any other platform. The platform is a training tool, not a cheating tool.
  • Using our analysis to assist others in live games.

Account & Access Abuse

  • Creating multiple accounts to circumvent tier limits (e.g., multiple Free accounts to exceed the 5 analyses/month limit).
  • Sharing account credentials or allowing others to use your account.
  • Reselling, sublicensing, or commercially redistributing access to the Service.

Technical Abuse

  • Automated scraping, crawling, or bulk API access without explicit written permission.
  • Attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the platform.
  • Attempting to exploit vulnerabilities, bypass rate limits, or interfere with the availability of the Service for other users.
  • Injecting malicious code, performing denial-of-service attacks, or any other activity that compromises the security or integrity of the platform.

AI Coach Misuse

  • Using the AI Chess Coach for non-chess purposes, harmful content generation, or spam.
  • Attempting to manipulate, jailbreak, or extract system prompts from the AI Coach.
  • Submitting abusive, hateful, or illegal content through the Agent or any other input field.

3. Fair Use & Rate Limits

Both Free and Pro tiers have defined usage limits to ensure fair access for all users:

FeatureFreePro
Game analyses5 / monthUnlimited
Analysis depthDepth 12Depth 12 (configurable up to 30)
Puzzles10 / dayUnlimited
AI Coach reviews1 / monthUnlimited
Move explanations10 / monthUnlimited
AI Chess Coach1 conversation (15 msgs)50 messages / day

Excessive automated usage, even within stated limits, may be throttled or suspended if it degrades service quality for other users. "Unlimited" features are subject to reasonable personal use — not bulk or commercial processing.

4. Our Anti-Cheating Stance

chessanalyses.com exists to help you become a better chess player through post-game analysis and structured training. We take the integrity of online chess seriously.

Using any chess engine — including ours — during live rated games violates the terms of service of every major chess platform (Lichess, Chess.com, FIDE Online) and constitutes cheating. If we have reason to believe an account is being used to facilitate live-game cheating, we will terminate that account without warning.

We may cooperate with chess platforms to report suspected cheating activity.

5. Enforcement

Violations of this AUP may result in one or more of the following actions, at our sole discretion:

  • Warning — a notification to cease the prohibited activity.
  • Temporary suspension — restricted access to the Service for a defined period.
  • Permanent termination — your account is deleted and you are permanently barred from the Service.

Refunds for accounts terminated due to AUP violations are handled per Paddle's standard refund policy.

6. Reporting Violations

If you believe another user is violating this policy, please report it to us at:

support@chessanalyses.com

Include as much detail as possible. All reports are reviewed and kept confidential.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or via email. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
